Foster carers we currently need

Birmingham is a richly diverse city and as such we need foster carers from all walks of life who are able to meet the needs of our children.

When a child in Birmingham is in need of a foster home, Birmingham Children’s Trust will look firstly to this Fostering Agency to see if we have a foster carer available.

We need placements for children of all ages from young babies to teenagers.

In particular we need foster carers who can offer a home to:

Three teenage boys

  • children over 10 years of age and teenagers
  • sibling groups (keeping brothers and sisters together)
  • children with additional needs, for example physical or learning disabilities
  • unaccompanied asylum seeking children. These children are usually teenage boys and some may have very limited spoken English

We need foster carers who reflect Birmingham’s diverse population of children and young people and who can offer a home to all types of children.

We have approximately 1,950 children in care, each one deserving the chance of a caring family and safe place to call home for as long as they need it.

We also welcome applications from foster carers currently working with another fostering agency or local authority or those with experience of working with children and young people in a professional capacity (although this is not a specific requirement to apply).

We look forward to hearing from you when you feel ready to take the next step.
