Appeal to providers – tell us about your innovative services

The Birmingham Children’s Trust has published a Prior Information Notice (PIN) on the Find it in Birmingham website so you can tell us all about the services you offer.

If you provide short-term residential care for children, 28-day activity programmes for children, step-down fostering placements or if you manage residential children’s homes for non-disabled children, then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for service providers to tell us about creative solutions to the following services

• Edge of care residential children’s homes for non-disabled children who a short break
• Short term children’s homes (i.e. Short term placements for assessment purposes or similar)
• 28 day activity programmes as alternatives to residential homes placements
• Step down fostering placements in residential homes with a designated programme to get a child into a fostering placement OR fostering providers with step down programmes who will work with children currently in residential to get them into fostering placements.

Jeanette Young, Interim Director of Commissioning and Innovation at Birmingham Children’s Trust said:

“We exist to make a positive difference for children, young people and families in Birmingham. 

“We want both existing providers of services to children in care and those that potentially could provide services to tell us what innovative ideas you have to help us improve the lives of children and young people.

“Tell us what you are doing that is fresh and creative so we can better understand what services we should be potentially investing in, and in turn you could be changing lives for the better.”

The deadline for submissions is 2pm on 18 September 2018.
