VIY Project Birmingham

Volunteer It Yourself (VIY) projects offer people who are unemployed or economically inactive work experience and:

  • Bite-sized volunteering opportunities to learn construction trade skills and boost their employability
  • Mentoring on site by professional tradespeople
  • Opportunity to gain Entry Level 3 City & Guilds trade skills accreditations (minimum 3 days commitment)
  • Participation in employability workshops
  • Support and guidance to young people interested in exploring further opportunities in the trade and construction sector
  • Support in taking steps to gaining CSCS cards is also available (limited)
  • Flexibility in scheduling

What:  Carpentry/ Painting and Decorating

Who: 18-21 yr old, Birmingham residents

Accreditation: Entry Level 3 City and Guilds in Carpentry/ Painting and Decorating (E-Certificate)

 

Project: Kings Heath Community Centre, 8 Heathfield Rd, King's Heath, Birmingham B14 7DB

When:  8th December - 19th December

Time: 10:00- 15:00

What:  Carpentry/ Painting and Decorating

Who: 18-21 yr old, Birmingham residents

Accreditation: Entry Level 3 City and Guilds in Carpentry/ Painting and Decorating (E-Certificate)
