Corporate Parenting - How to get involved

Social Value and Corporate Responsibility

CP11

If you have ever wondered how you can help children, young people and families in Birmingham, please see some examples below:

  • Work experience and training: Can you or your organisation provide opportunities for our children and young people that support access to training, education, work experience, apprenticeships or jobs? Are you able to guarantee an interview for our children and young people or ring fence opportunities? Can you provide training, workshops or skills development?
  • Employment and Apprenticeships: Can you ensure bespoke routes into ring-fenced employment and apprenticeship opportunities for our young people?
  • Volunteering: Can you support our children and young people as a volunteer Befriender or mentor?
  • Company resources and expertise: Can you support young people from care in a range of areas like independence through bespoke workshops and projects utilising the skill base of individuals, your staff and the organisation?
  • Company experience: Could you offer sector specific advice to young people interested in exploring that chosen work field?
  • Spaces and resources: Could you offer venues and spaces for events, meetings and spaces for our young people to meet mentors? Could you donate devices like laptops and tablets that your company may not need any more to our children and young people?
