Opportunities for businesses

How your business can help

Every business, from the smallest start-up to the largest multinational, can help us make a difference to young people in Birmingham.

There’s a range of things you can do. Whichever you choose, you’ll be supporting your community and making an important contribution to improving the chances of disadvantaged young people in our city.

We call businesses that support children in care, and those leaving care, our reward partners.

Here are two ways you can help

Work Experience Taster Days

We’re looking for businesses that can offer a day’s work experience to young people aged from 14 into early adulthood.

To give young people the best opportunities in a variety of industries, we’re keen to get businesses on board, from across the board.

When young people come to you on work experience, they’ll be supported by a corporate parent mentor. If things go well, the mentor may work with you to organise more work experience and even discuss possible job opportunities. This is one small way that you can make a big difference.

Support our events

We improve the education and aspirations of disadvantaged young people through the work we do. That’s something we think is worth celebrating.

We hold events all year round to cheer the achievements of our young people and care leavers. These include three Believe and Achieve award evenings, where more than 400 children, carers, family members and corporate partners come along to celebrate.

Events like these put young people’s successes centre stage, building their confidence, motivation and aspiration.

They also provide local businesses with opportunities to get involved. You can sponsor award categories, provide venues and catering, prizes and trophies. We also invite you along to share in the celebrations and see these inspiring stories for yourself.

Every small – or large – gesture is hugely appreciated. Typical prizes donated by businesses include restaurant meals, football tickets, books, art experiences, and software and apps that support learning.
