Kinship support groups in Birmingham

Birmingham Children’s Trust work closely with Kinship, an independent charity.
Peer support groups offer kinship carers the opportunity to meet, listen, share and support each other. New members are always welcome and free to join!
Kinship currently provides the following Birmingham based Kinship Peer Support Groups:
Birmingham North Kinship Carers
- Dates and times: Meet the second Thursday of each month, 10.30am - 12.00pm during term-time only.

Birmingham Peer Support Group for Black Kinship Carers
We have also been working closely with Families in Harmony to support their new peer support group in Birmingham. The group provides culturally inclusive support for Black African, Caribbean or Mixed heritage kinship carers.

Support from Kinship
In addition to the support provided by Birmingham Children’s Trust and the Kinship support groups, we also commission a service from the charity Kinship to extend and enhance our offer.
Birmingham carers can access a range of support from Kinship:
- Free emotional and practical support.
- Expert advice and support with benefits, financial issues, housing, education, legal issues and family relationships.
- Access to grants.
- Virtual peer-support groups.
- Telephone peer support with another Kinship Carer.
