Full steam ahead for Independent Trust Fostering
Following the launch of Birmingham Children’s Trust this month, Birmingham Foster Agency will become an Independent Foster Agency, set within the Trust.
Theresa Kane, Head of Fostering and Adoption for the Trust, explains,
“Because of the move to an independent Trust this simple change needs to talk place, and we have worked with our Foster Carers to make this happen. This will make no difference to the placements of children and young people. Birmingham Children’s Trust Fostering Agency will still be the only fostering agency set up specifically to meet the need of Birmingham children. When a child in Birmingham needs a foster home, we receive all the placement requests before any other agency. This means our foster carers get priority in the placement of children in Birmingham”.
