In a world full of bad news and negativity it is refreshing to see some good news, and that is exactly what happened on Saturday 9 January 2021, as ITV Central News aired a piece about the Trust's Winter Hub.

The two-minute piece features interviews with Maisie Hogan, one of six Trust business administration apprentices, and Natalie Loon, our corporate parenting manager.

Explains Natalie: "Since the first national lockdown we have not stopped in our collective support for children, young people, care leavers and families. Our frontline social work and family support staff have been relentless in their continued support provided, and they have been equally aided by Trust colleagues ranging from business support to legal and HR, to name just a few.

"Following the tremendous support we had starting last Spring we have again been overwhelmed by the generosity and spirit of our staff, business partners, organisations and people within the Birmingham community as they came together to support our Winter Hub by donating and distributing over 16,000 items over this Winter period.

"It was delightful to have ITV Central News come out and (Covid safely) film our Winter Hub, and it was especially rewarding that they spoke to one of our own apprentices with real-life care experience. Maisie is a courageous young lady and she is a fantastic ambassador for the Trust as well as her generation of remarkable young people. We are proud of our staff and proud of our partners, however big or small, and we are most proud that they are all part of #birminghamsbiggestfamily."

If you missed it live you can see the report yourself below, as ITV Central provided the Trust with the recording, which we have permission to share.
