Therapeutic Emotional Support Service (TESS)

About TESS

The Therapeutic Emotional Support Service (TESS) is an emotional well-being service for Birmingham’s children in care and care experienced young people up to the age of 25 years.

TESS aims to provide emotional support for you to explore difficulties you have experienced in your past and/or help you to manage challenges that might continue to affect your daily life.

After you are referred to us, an Initial Meeting is arranged. You can bring along your Personal Advisor (PA) to support you with this meeting, or someone else of your choice. At this meeting we will listen to you and be sensitive to your needs before deciding together whether now is the right time for us to support or whether there is another service that is better placed to help you at the moment.

Your personal adviser can refer you or, if you are over 18 years old, you can refer yourself to TESS.
