WEA - Adult Learning within reach - Online courses
Community interpreting initial assessment
The role of a Community Interpreter is becoming more important in our diverse society.
- An Interpreter acts as a bridge between communities and enables people to access services and situations which would otherwise not be possible.
- You may already have experience of translating for friends and family at their appointments. Have you thought of doing this for a career?
- If you have a good level of written and spoken English and speak a Community language our Community Interpreting courses could be for you.
- The WEA will be running level 1 and level 2 Community Interpreting courses online starting in February.
- If you are interested the first step is to attend one of our online initial assessment events.
- Your assessment will take about an hour.
- Following a successful assessment you will be invited to join our Community Interpreting Information and Study Skills course to prepare you for your level 1 course.
Where: Delivered live online via Zoom/Canvas.
When: Initial Assessments will be held in August and September, look out for an email inviting you to join an online assessment.
